Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is set to make a move to German giants Bayern Munich in the summer after six years at the Etihad Stadium. Advanced talks have already been opened between the 33-year-old and the Bavarian side, according to reports from Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.
Walker has had an up and down season for Manchester City, with inconsistent playing time under Pep Guardiola leaving him out of favour for much of it. This was highlighted in the UEFA Champions League final against Internazionale, where he was left out of the starting lineup in favor of Manuel Akanji. This has now led to Walker assessing his future options, and it looks like Bayern Munich is one club that he will be considering.
This move would see Walker join a club that have won multiple Bundesliga titles, as well as two Champions League titles since 2013. He would be joining a squad brimming with talent, such as Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman, both of which are capable of scoring goals from all over the pitch. With his vast experience in Premier League football, Walker is sure to bring something extra to a team that already contains world-class players.

The transfer also makes sense for Bayern Munich as they look to strengthen their defense ahead of next season. They already possess quality defenders like Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule in their ranks, but with Boateng turning 33 this year and Sule being injury prone for much of last season, fresh defensive reinforcements could be seen as necessary by manager Hansi Flick. If Walker joins them then they would have quality youth on their side too, thus helping them maintain their status as the top dog in German football for many more years into the future.
It is yet unclear what kind of kit Walker will don when he arrives at Allianz Arena should he decide to make this move. It is likely that Kyle will be wearing the new Bayern Munich kit 23/24 which features a sleek navy blue with yellow trim design that pays homage to traditional Bavarian colour scheme while remaining modern and stylish at the same time. Whatever happens though it remains clear that Kyle Walker could make a big impact on Bundesliga if he decides to pull on Bayern Munich’s colours next season.
