The transfer window is about to heat up with Bayern Munich set to enter talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the future of their star striker Harry Kane. The England international has just one year left on his current contract, leaving Spurs in a difficult position of needing to decide whether to cash in on the 29-year-old or risk losing him for free next summer.
Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on making an approach for Kane and have already earmarked him as their main attacking target heading into the summer transfer window. This would be an incredible coup for Die Roten, who are currently undergoing a massive squad overhaul under new manager Julian Nagelsmann. The Bavarian giants will be hoping that they can secure Kane’s signature by offering him the opportunity to join a side that recently won their 23rd Bundesliga title, donning their iconic red and white home kit.

This news comes after reports of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy being unwilling to let Kane join a rival Premier League club out of fear it could come back and haunt them should he continue scoring goals at a prolific rate. As such, this could open up the door for Bayern Munich to swoop in and make an offer that Spurs simply cannot refuse.
Kane is coming off his best season yet for Spurs, having scored 33 goals in all competitions – including 24 in the Premier League alone – both of which were career highs. He also contributed 14 assists, making him one of the most complete strikers in world football at present. His impressive form has led many fans and pundits alike claiming that he should be crowned as this season’s PFA Player of the Year award should Liverpool not win the Premier League title. As such, it goes without saying that signing Harry Kane would be a major boost for any team looking to challenge Europe’s elite clubs next season, including Bayern Munich’s chances in next year’s Champions League competition. At present it remains unclear what fee Tottenham Hotspur would demand if negotiations between themselves and Bayern Munich were successful but given Harry Kane’s importance to their club it is likely they will demand nothing less than top dollar for his services should they decide to sell this summer. Time will tell if Die Roten’s pursuit is successful but regardless we may now be entering what could potentially be one of the biggest transfer sagas this summer window has ever seen.
